Yeah, but I don't think Rod can sing anymore. He don't sing well anymore.
But he should have done a record like that 10 years ago.

Agree, such a shame though. Tom really still has got the pipes though....

Ablett, I was ready to lambaste you for posting a thread about Tom Jones on this board (especially without labeling it OT). But to my amazement, there's some cool stuff on here. Especially dig that first track. Very bluesy and cool.

Am I the only one, or does Jones' voice sounds eerily like Buddy Guy, especially on "Lord Help"?

I wish the Stones sounded as good as he does. . .lol

Some folks on this board might argue that the difference between Tom Jones and the Stones is that he "sold out" to Vegas about 20 years aerlier than they did.
[Not necessarily my view ;^) ]

Just goes to show that it's never too late to repent ! ;^)

Tom Jones used to record for a really cool record label, Parrot Records . .always liked their logo.

Tom Jones

Now, I do like some of Tom Jones's stuff - the 60s stuff on Decca, and the country albums he cut in the 80s are pretty good. Haven't gone near him since his 80s comeback though, but I've never begrudged him his newfound success.

Is this worth getting, Ablett?

his voice sonds good to me. always did.

the songs don´t fit and are boring to me though.

i hope the next one will be up tempo.

It's No1 on my list of next things to get. Can't wait to hear it.
