right. i sometimes think it's one of those "insecurity" issues that causes people to proclaim things to be the greatest - somehow folks get their identities wrapped up in being fans of "the best" of this or that. i'm a big stones fan, of course, but they might be the worst band of all time for all i care. what the hell diff does it make?

The Stones are one of the greatest bands of all time, who have done many great things, but are also human, with their share of mistakes and imperfections, in music and life. Even though they are my favorite band of all time, I just can't automatically agree with everything on this list.

I have often put forward this belief here but still threads with the titles "best this' and 'best that' persist when the what is really meant is favorite or in ones opinion. "Best" and "greatest" are subjective terms and unless one provides the criteria for determining why something is the best or greatest the question then becomes one of opinion based on personal preference only. So, do I agree with what ManuelStones wrote? Only in part, based on my own opinion of course...Quote
