Ala Robert Johnson? Got a better explanation?

I'm talking about the real devil, not Klein, Cohl, Leavell's beard, etc.

If there is anything like a god, it (he/she) has for sure been on the Stones side, 48 years down the road .....
Any "real" devil wasted it's chances long ago spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Deals with the Devil are usually made by people that don't
have any talent. Example: Drew Carey...........no talent! How this
guy every made a dime (let alone $8 Million) to host THE PRICE IS RIGHT
is a mystery to me. Definitely a deal with the devil.

I read somewhere (I think it was Mick's bio written by Christopher Sandford) that Mick read some books about satanic and magic stuff in the 60's, like James Frazer, Aleister Crowley, and so on.

The closest they came to making a deal with the devil was Mick reading Bulgakov's The Master And Margarita before recording Beggar's Banquet.

filmmaker and occultist kenneth anger says that he turned Mick onto that stuff. Anita was the most effected by it.

I don't know if they made any sort of pact with the Devil. But here is an actual photograph from that period. Who is that guy in the background?

It would have been bitterly ironic if, during Mick Jagger and Keith Richards flirtation with Satan, one or both of them had been killed at Altamont during the singing of Sympathy for the Devil.

It was a closer call for Jagger and Keith than they would care to admit!

Food for thought.

Well, if you play Sympathy For the Devil backwards, there are some references to drug use, animal sacrifices, and being knighted. Very disturbing indeed.smiling smiley

I don't know if it is a deal exactly, but I think at least Mick was dancing with Mr. D.

I tried to read the lyrics backwards, it didn't work much..

I think you need to read the lyrics upside down in order to see the cryptic satanic messages . . .

The devil went down to London, he was looking for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal.
When he came across this young man pluckin' on a guitar and playin' it hot.
And the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and said: "Boy let me tell you what:
"I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a guitar player too.
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you play a pretty good guitar, boy, but give the devil his due:
"I bet albums of gold against your soul, 'cos I think I'm better than you."
The boy said: "My name's keith and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet, your gonna regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."

Jagger was born with cloven hoofs - so that makes your question rhetorical.

No, just contracts with unsavory persons. They left the deals with the devil to Jimmy Page.
