Stones Have 24 LPs?

Is that correct? They have released 24 records? At least in the United States. Is there any other band that has released more?

Sure there are. Bob Dylan released 33... tongue sticking out smiley And the list goes on and on and on. That's not as special as some might think.

I can see a solo artist doing more albums. Are there any other bands that have as many studio album releases as the Stones? I can't think of any. No other band has been around this long right? Of course, they've been taking longer and longer between albums. If we have to wait again like we did after Bridges we'll all be dead by the time it comes out.

I don't think the Beach Boys lasted that long. My guess is that maybe The Kinks come close to The Stones?

It doesn't matter how many LP's AC/DC has, because, according to Angus himself, they all sound exactly alike.

Since the Stones are a UK band it's the number of UK Albums that count Skipper - don't be so USAcentric POR FAVOR.... (I think BLIND FAITH has actually put out more albums - let me check smiling smiley )

Don't let that anti American Helter fool fool you. The U.S. albums count too.

Bon Scott era is my fave. Those albums sound so good!

Back In Black is awesome though. It's scary to think how that would have turned out with Bon singing it! But I like Brian too.

According to Wikipedia The kinks have 28 studio albums but they may be fudging a bit. For instance To The Bone is not a studio album but a collection of Kinks songs redone live in the Studio. Kind of like Stripped maybe.

Stripped isn't counted in the Stones discog as a studio album.

I know skip that's why I think that 28 number isn't accurate but they may edge the stones with 26 or 27 studio albums. I didn't realize they did that many studio albums.

Elvis? Someone care to count? [www.starpulse.com]

13 total comps (UK and US combined) counting each release as one, including The London Years, the two Hot Rocks and Stripped - only counting authorized releases (Rolled Gold etc not counted).

9 live albums total including Stripped and Circus.

So that's 44 - I'm not going into the UK/US differences but it's in the mid-40s for each. There are 2 UK only releases (Time Waits For No One and Jump Back) and only 1 US only release (Flowers).

That's still one hell of a back catalog no matter how one looks at it.

10 live albums including SAL.
