Let It Bleed - album covers gallery

I like collecting Stones vinyl. My initial reason for joining IORR was to argue about Taylor vs Ronnie to learn more about the LPs that are out there; the rarities and the non-rarities, the variations and the collectables. There is a wealth of knowledge on Stones LPs out there, and the more we can share it the better... When collecting Stones vinyl I pay close attention to the different "Let It Bleed" pressings out there, because it is my favourite album and artwork of theirs. This has made me realise just how many interesting variations of an album there can be out there... Anyway, if you have any interesting photos of "Let It Bleed" pressings (or interesting information) could you please post it here? Groovy.

Here is an unusual pressing of "Let It Bleed" from Asia. I am not sure what country though?

Here's the reverse side of the Russian pressing you can find quite easily these days. Strangely, the LP artwork is a hand drawn version of the cake.

Wow, (apart from the Gimme/Gimmie thing, which doesn't count) no spelling errors!
I didn't know they had it in them...

Really interesting, my favourite ever album cover - I didn't realise there was a hand drawn cover out there. Great post.

Yes, I'm also an avid collector, so I do appreciate posts of this type, thanks.

Maybe I'll try and be a little more proactive on creating posts like this as well...I need to figure out how to upload photos.

Hey Jan, that is a great link! Thank you for that. Very interesting to read about the different UK versions, with the differing Decca labels. I bookmarked that weblink, thanks again! smiling smiley

Hi Treacle, man you should think about uploading photos of your vinyl... Your collection sounds out of sight. I'm sure many people here would appreciate it. BTW, just use a free image hosting website such as [imageshack.us] to upload your photos; once uploaded at imageshack, just copy the weblink into a post here at IORR.

And I hope you made a bid on that Dandelion 7"...?

Here is a closeup of the Asian "Let It Bleed" sleeve from the top of this thread. The cover has a hot-pink background, and slightly different graphics. It looks like a screen-printed version of the cover (!) or a b+w image that was subsequently retouched. Best of all, the Stones figurines on the cake seem to have been orientalised- checkout Mick Jagger in the image below

Here is the reverse side to the Asian pressing. "Interesting" is one way to derscribe it- looks like a green photocopy that has been cut+pasted and then given Asian record company info

From the well-known French series. I love how the cover artwork opens up to reveal a booklet.

The reverse of the picture disc is quite weird- the track listing is out of order. However, the LP plays the songs in correct running order.

Intersting, bolexman, but let's cut the crap: Taylor or Ronnie?

Seriously, I love threads like this. Keep up teh good work! thumbs up

Thanks Doxa! Rest assured the photos in this thread are just a warm-up to a massive Taylor vs. Ronnie argument I am about to unleash.

Hi bolexman,

here are the different German releases I have so far (click on the images for details):

are you sure your Mexican one is really Mexican? Looks like the German boots/counterfeits that were made years ago from many different official releases.

Hi silkcut, thansk for your info... yes the Mexican pic disc might well be a bootleg! I have no way of knowing with that one... I've only seen them mentioned a few times on the internet. It plays in the correct song order, but for some reason the cover has incorrect song listing. Not sure what is happening with there... Anyway, it would be great of someone at IORR can confirm if the MExican picture discs are indeed German boots. There are a few "Mexican pic discs" in circulation (Goats Head Soup, Its Only Rock'n'roll are others I have seen). Maybe these were all German boots?

Silkcut, I have just visited your link, your collection looks terrific! Nice work smiling smiley

I one day will get the "Express-Ausgabe" pressing, I really like it, the "rushed" artwork is radically different from the sleeve that was eventually released & becasue of this it would look great in any collection.

After that, I would like to get an original LIB with the famous booklet.
