So I guess the next big thing is Keith's autobio?

How much of a degree of verisimilitude do you think we'll get with regard to embellished stories (you know Muddy painting the ceilings at Chess and so on) to ommissions (his violence towards Anita and other girlfriends) to just downright bs?

I truly hope it's a much better read tah Ronnie's childish garble.

Do you think we can expect anything else at the same time as the book release?
Fo promoting the book and vice versa: Can we expect an announcement of a new tour? A new album?

Who believes the Stones have one major tour left in them? Does anyone think they are finished as a live act?

<Who beieves the Stones have one major tour left in them? Does anyone think they are finished as a live act?>

I think PMS was their last highlight..
Any attempt to play songs like that live is "mission impossible"
Hope Jagger goes solo one more time. He still can do it.

Don't think any other anouncments would be made at that point given their still riding the Exile wave and Keith would be probably heading for the Xanax in the bathroom cabinet cos if this & million book flops it will be very emabarrassing for him.

I think it well sell particularly well however.

ps - speaking of book sales anyone know how they are scanned? I would love to know what Ron's book sold. It was pathetic I thought but I knew and absolute sh*tload of people that bought it.

Have to disagree...they will tour, I agree with the 50th anniversary idea.
I think they will have a new album, and I think they can probably play Plundered no problem...maybe a Taylor guest appearance?
Have to agree...Jagger should do another solo and he can still do it!
Maybe in time for Christmas 2010?

Yeah, I also think that it will sell quite well. Keith's timing - as always - is perfect. The world has been repaired with EXILE hype, and all that just cements Keith's reputation and myth (no matter how much Mick was involved in its re-release.). As an rock autobiography I believe the public attention it gets I think will only be second to Bob Dylan's. No matter how much Mick worked with EXILE re-issue, and its PR, this year will be Keith's...

Thanks Doxa!

And that bad Rockman? Ronnie's was a shocker for the same but didn't think Bob would be like that. That said I remember seeing a clip of Bob and JL in the back of a limo on the way to Dylan playing I think at the Albert Hall. In the conversation he name dropped quite a bit but I just put it down to him being completely pissed.

Yeah, I think Dylan set the new standard for autobios, and the one I think only him can follow... I think the way to approach Dylan's book is the same as his songs. It is like him giving us the chance to watch the world through Bob Dylan's eyes. How did he reflect the world around him in certain times. Especially the New York days is piece of art. He really makes the scenes breath, including the sounds in the radio, the names and all... And like always with Dylan, he doesn't really reveal anything "real" of himself, of his privacy. But it is not Dylan the man that should interest us but Dylan the artist, the man of insights, how he reflects the world around him.

I am sure Keith's book will be much more conventional. Taking the fact that he has a ghost writer, I presume it be more like Marianne Faithfull's or Ronnie Wood's book than Dylan's. But much better I hope.

I wonder what will be in it about his mother and father. I think his mum was responsible for his withdrawn nature and that his use of alcohol and drugs was/is a means to overcome this aspect of his personality.
