Well, this tune moved me enough to buy my first record when I was about ten years old:

Always liked Down by the River, by Neil Young. One of the best guitar solos ever.

I am glad you posted some of the songs that had a strong impress on you because there are some of them that I thought I had forgotten !!!

For instance, still ill,I had forgotten how many times I used to listen to this Chicago's song .Now I've found it again,it's like the madeleine de Proust" ,you know....

I realise I am much more on rock than on blues or country -unfortunately for sure -

Some good ones on your list, Andrea! More people need to get hip to "Essence". It's a deeply sexual and moving song. "Simple Twist of Faith" is fantastic. You have good taste.

Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash
That's All Right - Elvis
Subteranean Homesick Blues - Dylan

Great list, slew.

I love the Shondells and Cheap Trick (among many others).

Here's my 15 year old:

Sweet Cherry Wine - a great anti-war song

Cheap Tric - a great blend of pop and POWER. What a voice Robin Zander has!

thanks 71Tele,
I like your taste too. Tom waits is really one of the biggest guys still around. 2008 shows in Milano were absolutely fantastic. And Christmas card from a hooker in minneapolis was one of the first tom waits song i learned by heart; the other one was i never talked to strangers.....
