A classic example of WHY DON'T the Stones add outtakes and alternate versions on the countless remastering/record label changes? They miss the boat on this. Hopefullt the success of the Exile project will light a spark!

Slight flaw with that, slew was that Exile hadnt been remastered since 1994 when they did that.

The other albums had been remastered and reissued as recently as 2009.

Boat already sailed, unfortunately. It'd be a bit crappy for fans who purchased those albums for the fourth or fifth time to just reissue them again so soon with bonus material. (plus the fact that such projects would be selective - cant imagine much demand for Emotional Rescue or Dirty Work deluxe versions, even though those albums have a slew (pardon the pun) of pretty interesting leftover material).

Unless they reissue them again with bonus material at a very competitive price, boxed sets covering their entire career would be the way to go, IMO.

you think the exile project was a success?

it's on this board that i learned the master source is iffy and that the Virgin release was the best possible CD release.

and i do disagree with most here cause i'm thinking all the new vocals total shit
and its
really bad move to promote exile with this;

and add a new version for the masses and generations in history that isn't even up to sonic snuff on cd or vinyl?

is that part of the problem that just hit the culture with tons of hype pretty much ignorning the actual best album they ever made,???

or will make.

soo, to me it's not close to a success. not even close. hardly a wave in the lake, except for the marketing huzzah, and the errant cynicism, and the lost state of their artisic affairs these last many years.

Gazza - I know they missed the boat already. They should have done it last year. I know they can not do it again. Maybe they could do an album of out takes and real rarities someday.
