the match made for amazing television, last night.
Both players Isner, in particular, were running on empty and looked as though they would collapse with exhaustion at any moment.
It was genuine sporting history and theatre that will never again be witnessed.

A fantastic match and certainly an interesting first few days of Wimbledon.

Mahut actually won a 24-22 3rd set in the second round of qualifying and then came from a 2 sets to 1 deficit to win in the 3rd round of qualifying to advance to the main draw.

In 2007, Mahut beat Nadal in the quarterfinals at Queens and then almost beat Roddick in the Final.

The fifth set alone shattered the record for the longest match of all time.

Nearly impossible to comphrend.

I wonder if we'll see the introduction of final set tie breaks after this... The US Open already has them.
