I agree. It is a tad anal plus you'll never have a definitive answer. I'm too busy, somebody else'll have to take over.tongue sticking out smiley

interesting topic! The overall message is how shockingly few tracks feature all Stones playing their "regular" instruments all together.

but why not go earlier? I don't understand the "the Stones began with Beggars Banquet and the '69 tour" mindset.

I would like it but it's just I am a bit confused with the credits on my vinyls and my books .Let's say that I don't know from where to begin.smiling smiley

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

Interesting topic. (I also tend to focus on Beggar's and beyond as their true prime...but that's for another discussion...)

I believe that the vinyl version of Black and Blue, here in the States, had a listing on the inner sleeve of who was on each track, playing what and what were overdubs. More like the notes of someone on the mixing board. I wish I still had my vinyl version of that record. I got rid of it in the late 70s as I did not appreciate much of the record. Years later I started to love it.

1 it is shocking but the overall RS sound is still there
2 first few albums were recorded as a band i assumed so left them.
Other people will be more familiar with pre beggars' albums or post tattoo.
Recording equipment was more modern end of 60s ,easier to listen to different instruments.

Silver Train - no bill

All Down The Line - Bill Pummer, not Wyman!

Most of Some Girls should be Red - except Bill not on bass on Shattered, Before they Make Me Run and Some Girls

Also - you've got a lot of unspecific 'nos' - you need to be more negatively specific!

thanks for your input ,i will edit that in. bill claims the bass in ADTL could he handle the upright?
it seems bill just was never there at the right time. he was well able to play those parts.
