Black and Blue - took a really long time to grow on me. Thanks god some girls was so good. It was tough times back then. Oh yeah and pretty much every album after Tattoo You were disappointing, though none as much as Bigger Bang. Was really hoping they could get a real stong record together one more time.

ENOUGH of your "Exile is crap, Aftermath is their masterpiece" agenda! Not EVERY Stones album can have pointless 11-minute jams on them!

Although an old Topic ..and posted a few times before

GHS was the first, but I have to admit that if you release 4 great records on a row it is difficult. I like it now

Think the biggest was BTB..don't ask me why but I don't like the atmospere of the record, and for Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge the same story, Break The Spell sound ok from SW

Dirty Work sounds better then those 3 records

I have loved every new album that has come out in my lifetime, although in retrospect some weren't that great and haven't stood test of time like their prime years, Got Live if you want it is the only one I was disappointed with on first listening.

dirty work
most of undercover...
btb (by this time i HAD ACTUALLY STOPPED buying THEIR new releases after over a happy twenty years of buying EVerything stoneage...saw sw, one last time with bill, but actually left the show with about almost a hour left to them onstage.
steel wheels...

from mid 80's onward they have become less and less reliable on record imo.
vl and abb good albums and exceptions imo...still totally ready for a great stones album.....but starting circa DW...where i was actually shocked by the heavy suckage...they have coasted and not been very caring about their own studio stuff imo.....of COURSE w exceptions...they are stones after all.

No, it's rated exactly right, whether you enjoy it or not is a different issue.

I started buing records in the mid-90's, although my old man had all original albums.

The ones i never understood and care less and less about is Emotional Rescue and Dirty Work, while I tried to like Bridges To Babylon, but it never grew on me either.

DIRTY WORK is possibly one of the worst albums ever made by a classy band like the Stones. Of course that album is BARELY the STONES. I dont even think they were ever together in the same room.

I hope the next one (if there IS a next one) isn't another amalgamation of separate "Mick sessions" and "Keith sessions". Which was the one with Babyface? (I stopped being able to remember the difference between their records after Steel Wheels). It was like a Mick solo album and a Keith solo album, and not in a good way.

For me Undercover, especially as it was a follow up to Tattoo You. Had it followed up Emotional Rescue the poor quailty would have been half expected. Tattoo You in many ways was a deceiving album because it gave the impression the Stones were in better shape musically than they really were at the time. It's only in retrospect that one realises most of the album was based on outtakes stretching back in some instances almost a decade. The first album from the Stones i truly hated (for the most part) was SteelWheels which i still find extremely sterile.

"Their Satanic Majesties Request", the only one that is a complete desaster in my opinion. There are a few another weaker albums, but they all have their magic moments though.

1st Stones album I bought (or it may have been a present) as a new release was Emotional Rescue . Not enough good tracks to win me over.

A Bigger Bang - too many tracks. The curse of cds ! IMHO.

Knock off 5 songs and add UTR and it's good to go.

Live Licks and Shine A Light: Mixed feelings about them, because of the really weak and bad sound (where is the bass?) but with a fantastic setlist!

O yeah, and of course the horrible piano intro from Loving Cup... really bad! Next tour they should bring a real piano on stage, one where the "roll" can be played on!
