At least Linda has the good grace to look embarrassed about it...

Did she just yell 'People try to rape me' ?

The outfit and the dancing is beyond description, in fact, but the musical interpretation isn't so bad. TD isn't easy to sing, especially in a duet.

I like it, but I've a soft spot for 70's cheese.

Nice performance: good tempo and real tight. "People try to rape me", great lyrics as well.

That's what I heard too. Weak!

Never was a fan of this version - or Linda Ronstadt, or this freaky fellow singing with her. Is that Richard Simmons?

Good grief. That was ridiculous. How did Richard Simmons wind up on stage? It's so much better when Linda sings it without Richard Simmons, and has Waddy there instead.

Is there really a need for a guitar change in that song?

I saw Leo Sayer in 1977 and, while I was only 15 at the time, could swear Jim Price was in the band...

Yikes. ... Late 70s variety shows!

OT, but why did Jagger so quickly replace "tasty" with "crazy" in the first line? I never understood that. "Tasty" is a far superior line.

I would think it's because he broke a string.
Most people would carry on until the end of the song, but maybe that's not possible with the Bigsby tremelo. Some tremelo guitars lose their pitch when one string breaks.

I agree, musically it's not bad. Visually, Linda is fine but Leo acts way too cheesy. It was a variety show though, it's to be expected. Even good ones like Johnny Cash's could be corny at times.

If I only heard the music by itself, I wouldn't think it was bad. It's not much different than Linda's solo version, which I like, and which she was probably promoting.

Didn't Roger Daltrey have Leo Sayer write songs for him on one of his solo albums? I remember Leo on Solid Gold here is the states singing "You Make Me Feel Like Dancin" wearing knicker and red striped socks! Disco cool, baby!
