With the Stones on hold, this is one of the most exciting recent emergences for Stones fans... Torn and Frayed has now officially entered the list of songs that Phish is covering during the new fall tour, and its a damn good sounding tune as of late

I never heard that, until I looked at the lyrics. It sounded like he said "Joe's got a crowd, seems kind of rough, yeah and the code he can fix it". How mistaken I was grinning smiley

Just a brilliant song, love the opening chords of the studio version.

You got the Sun, You got the Moon,
and you've got
The Rolling Stones

was at this show and was at Phish's Festival 8 where they covered Exile. So happy this has entered their rotation...it was probably the highlight of their Exile set on Halloween.

As Always EOMS remains as the greatest work of music in history. If Mozart or Bethoven were alive cd would be playing in their car or on horse.

Legend has it that Gram is on this one and it certainly sounds inspired by him. Anybody know anymore?

Have the notion that Tom Petty might be able to do a really brillant version of it.

It's a song type proved not replicable in concert.

Key word here is "legend". Gram wasn't allowed anywhere near a microphone courtesy of Sir Mick. Inspired? Possibly. I always thought it was Mick writing about Keith.

some people on here are going to say that anything stones played by anyone other than the stones is shit. phish's cover is great. just like theyre cover of loving cup is great (and better than what ive seen the stones do with that song).

I give Phish huge kudos for making the attempt. It's a difficult work, and not even our own boys have tried to perform it all the way through, nor will they ever (probably).

I think the Stones did it at Wembley Arena in London in 2003

I had never heard Phish before these EOMS clips appeared, but I'm not impressed at all.
