OT..Aerosmith fans only...update

Aerosmith cancelled their tour 2 months ago when Tyler fell off the stage & broke his shoulder..surgery may still be needed but he apperas to be fit enough to fulfill these last 4 dates in SF, Hawaii & the middle east which probably offered too much money to cancel...I attended tonight's ORACLE gig held at Treasure Island & Tyler didn't seem to be suffering from his injury..in fact, they blew the crowd away..I stood several feet away from the band all evening & they looked great...unlike the horrible photo that someone posted on IORR recently..Joe Perry guested on local radio today for an hour and said that the band had not been together since the accident...that the band's future was uncertain...they rehearsed for 2 hours today for the first time since Steven's accident.....maybe Steven was pumped up with pain killers..I don't know...but I do know that they tore the place apart..Joe hinted that his new solo project is ready for the road so I would guess a solo tour is on the horizon...Joe Perry brought up an interesting point on the radio today...Name the ONLY AMERICAN bands that have been together for the past 30-40 years that are still active with ALL ORIGINAL members ?....ZZ TOP..Aerosmith & Cheap Trick....others ?.......peter

Dude, reckon your setting yourself up for a fall (ha, like Tyler) here putting up stuff about Aerosmith. Thet really get on some peoples goat around here.

I like 'em myself, seem them a good many times. Read somewhere recently - might have been classic rock magazine, that Perry was not feeling the love for Tyler at the moment and that cracks may have appeared in their relationship affecting the future of the band, not sure but waiting to see what happens.

By the by, I've heard that the new autobiogrpahy by Joey Kramer is supposed to be a cracking read, thinking of getting a copy.

Anyhoo, rock on brother.

Hmm.....saw Cheap Trick a year ago and didn't realize it was Bun E. Carlos on drums.

I can't think of any other American bands that have played together for 30-40yrs with all original members.

The group Chicago has a bunch of original members but different vocalists etc... Tough to keep
all originals when so many band members (like Chicago).

REO SPeedwagon comes close.....but close only counts in horse-shoes & hand grenades. winking smiley

IORR............but I like it!

Hey Peter.I heard about the Oracle gig. Very cool you got in. I heard some of Perry on the Bone as well. Do you happen to remember what the setlist was? Roger Daltry was supposed to be their as well. Did you see him?

Umm, that is not true. They broke up and re-formed

Aerosmith never broke up, tho Perry and Whitford left in 79 I think and rejoined around 84.

As for long serving bands with the original line up - Rush almost count. I know they had a different drummer on the first album, but have had a settled line up since about 75
