Is Plundered My Soul the song with the largest span year wise to be released as a single after it's original recording. I'm not talking about album tracks. I'm talking about singles. I can't think of one with a longer duration.

Well half of it wasn't recorded until November 2009 - so that's not that long before the single's release on April 17th of this year. Only a couple of ingredients are from 1971/1972.

It set a record for most articles indicating it was limited to 1000 copies before actually selling an unquantifiably higher number.
