Mick Jagger painting by Ronnie Wood at SFAE
Posted by: bv ()

I was visiting San Francisco Art Exchange yesterday, and they had some pretty amazing stuff there. They are known for having the largest non-stop exhibition of Ronnie Wood art, but they do also have many other Stones art items, like Kruger and art photos. What was most impressing was a close up one of a kind never seen before Ronnie Wood painting of Mick Jagger. It has never been made into lithographs, so it is pretty unique. But... the cost is equal to the complete cost of travel and tickets to each and every show the Stones would perform for the next three tours, so until I get this extra money from the lottery I think I will pass on the opportunity to others with a great passion for Stones art.

Bought two of Ron's paintings(Charlie with Sax; Mick with harp). Ever since every time I check the pricing at one of his shows those prices have skyrocketed. So, good investment.

3rd row down, 2nd from the left is the only one I don't think I've ever seen before?

tastes are different, but ronnie woods paintings are just terribly tasteless and unoriginal (and not even technicaly good). he should give it away for the cost of the color and the canvas...everything above is ridiculous.
ahhh, it's not a fair world....;-)

well you're the first to tell me i'm not positive...love live, love the stones, love this board, love you...all easy! being critical is not negative!
i just use strong words sometimes and english is not my mothertongue...so maybe some things sound different!
but i really think ronnie woods paintings are an insult for my eyes!
but i love his playing...peace...daddy! ;-)

or at least the BAPS members (Bay Area Plexiglass Society).

And that painting, i know at least one of the BAPS members owns it, now, whether it is the one with the aqua background as shown above or whether it is the one with the red background, I dont know.

Both are equally good and both have been around since 2005, maybe before. But BV may not be speaking of that particular painting but maybe he will say which one he is speaking of.

While u r in the Bay Area, be sure and see the Andy Warhol exhibit at the DeYoung Museum as it has a lot of Stones and Mick material and I have been told it is really good.

Bv - you are going to be at the Knitting Factory in NYC, May 19th ?
If so, I view this as a very excellent sign from on high.

I prefer his paintings more than his guitar playing.

And I definitely prefer his guitar playing to his paintings. Having said that, I've got two of them ... Conversation Piece and Wild Horses. O whoops ! But for Stones imagery, Kruger's THE MAN. A different class of artist altogether in my humble opinion.

Never heard of Charlie with sax, picture possible ?
Is it Ronnie´s kind of humour or does Charlie really have such abilities ?
Well,at least I wished I could tell about Ronnie´s painting of Bobby on drums...

I was actually on a business trip to San Jose Ca etc, but I passed by San Francisco on my way home for a day. Great weather, sunshine and I went to Alcatraz for the 4th time, which is always interesting. Every time I come to SF with others they ask me to come to Alcatraz with them so by now I do know the inmates comments on the tourist tape in my sleep. Anyway, it is always great to visit SFAE to see what they are doing, so much great stuff up there, and if you care to visit them and have a great deal of cash stacked away then this one is acually available now. But... a small scan of it does not do any justice - it's a great and very large art item and it needs a really big room...

Ronnie Wood is NOT an artist. He is sub-par illustration student - and nothing more.
