This video is at least a couple of years old.
I heard he finally sold his collection for a fraction of it's estimated worth.

Strange to think what someone pays millions for will become nearly worthless. I'm kind of in the same boat, though on a much smaller scale. There's a life lesson for ya !!!

QUOTE: "Its estimated worth".
I love that phrase - really, it doesn't mean a thing!

And i was thinking that i have a nice collection .

I would imagine though that you have a life. I'm not so sure this poor guy does.

is the collection insured? if so perhaps it could be lost in a flood, and he can collect!!!! but how do you start a flood? ha ha, old joke . . .

but this is no joke, in 1985, i was 15 years old in boston at a record shop called second coming records, it has since gone out of business, and i had in my hands on the stones promotional album!!!!!!!! at the time i thought, i had all the tracks except for the different love in vain of course and i decided not to buy it!!!!!!!!!! OMG, WtF!

The guy at the beginning of that video is questioning why the record he is holding isn't worth a lot of money? Hmm.... maybe because you're holding it in a way that is getting your dirty fingerprints on it?

Thanks UrbanSteel for the link.Very touchable video .But a bit scaring too.His whole life seems to be here ,in the shelves.

1 Million albums ? I am really impressed !
I felt sorry for him when he says "nobody gives a damn ";how comes there is nobody to buy his collection ?
Very sad too the winner of the auction on ebay was a deadbeat non-paying bidder.
His collection has a tremendous historical value ,why no attempts have been made to preserve it?. No family ,no museum ?

The collection’s most valuable record is a rare Rolling Stones album that was never commercially released — only 300 promotional copies were produced by London Records, and it’s valued at approximately $8,000
They say that 87 percent of the music in Mawhinney’s vault is not available on the Internet.

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .
