It seems to me that he can obviously be heard singing at parts of the song although for the credits in the song for background vocals hes not listed?

I don't think he sings on this one

It's Mick on backing vocals, just like This Place Is Empty, Oh No Not You Again or Dangerous Beauty on ABB, he's doing the best Keith '1969-1978' interpretation.

I dont think it sounds like mick at all. it sounds like vintage keith from the exile period. But if it was i guess they would have listed it so maybe im just hearing things.

The vocals are all new...supposedly PMS was just the backing track.
It's Mick doing a Keith impression to give it a sort of Exile feel I guess.

This is the best new vocal I've heard from them in over a decade.

I also think it's Mick doing a Keith impersonation...

We should thank Mick for the attention to detail!

Count me in for a "Mick doing Keith" vote. he's done it many times because keith can't hit those notes anymore.

It IS Mick.

Actually it's amazing Mick CAN sing like that! That's Steven Tyler territory there. Which Keith was. I bet Keith could still nail those high notes if he wasn't busy - the microphone can't record posing ha ha.

Doubt that one skipstone. Keith can't even remember the words he wrote much less hit high notes. Just listen to the Toronto show from 2002 where they did 'Torn And Frayed'. Bless him he tries, but I have heard animals in pain that made sweeter sounds.

Keith isn't on PMS.

With Mick doing all those vocals it takes them even further down the road to being a one man band. As for him hitting the high notes, I just don't know. There's technology out there that could make me sound like a great singer.

Still really luvn PMS now however and hope to hear it live real soon.

Exactly. Keith may help keep the myths alive, but I feel like Jagger is the one keeping the music alive. Charlie's the only other competent musician in the band, and he only does what he's hired to do when he's hired to do it. For all of his famous disdain for nostalgia, this Exile reissue probably wouldn't have even happened if had been left up to any Stone besides Mick.

I do think Kieth plays guitar on it though, rhthym and acoustic.

Mick's backing vocals make the song! (I don't hear Keith.)

I don't hear Keith on PMS, but I don't think it's cause he can't sing like that anymore. I don't know that he ever could. Y'all know that Mick did a lot of those backing vocals that people think is Keith don't you? He always did a great Keith impersonation. Keith's voice seems to have come back pretty strong in recent years in my opinion. Listen to 'Faraway Eyes' on Shine a Light compared to anything from Hampton, VA 81. No contest. That's all Keith on This Place Is Empty.

Even Keith's backing vocals? They're really rough on that Hampton dvd. I just got it and cringed more than a few times. Great show, but probably the reason they hired backup singers the next go around.

Keith's 81/82 backing vocals are say-hallelujah time - that wonderfully melodious yowl!
can't get enough ... i've noticed that some people apparently can't hear how beautiful it is,
and i keep incense lit for them :E

(but he's not singing on Plundered)

i'm sure mick knows how to sound like keith and has probably done it in the past. if paul mccartney can sound like lennon (let me roll it first verse) i'm sure mick can do a keith impersonation

I agree that Mick often does a Keith sound-alike harmony part (probably even on the original "Exile"...I used to think the harmony on "Casino Boogie" was a chick, then I thought it was Keith, but I've finally decided it's Mick).

However, could someone please answer for me this question: who is singing the vintage-Keith like lead vocal toward the end of "Plundered My Soul"?...the part where, on the official video, they show the shot of Keith with the baseball cap & shades...credits aside, I could swear that was '70s-very early '80s era Keith. Not as high-pitched as "Happy" or "Before They Make Me Run", but more like "Coming Down Again", Surely THAT can't be Jagger! Any thoughts?

How many times do you need to be told? Its Mick Jagger.

Come on, that singing at the end doesn't even sound like Keith...There's no Keith at all on this track, except for the guitars.

You don't know that he ever could? Put on Exile right now and play "Casino Boogie" and "Torn & Frayed". Keith's singing on that album is one of the things that make it great.

I think it's Taylor on backup vocals. And on drums. And all guitars.
