Thank you for remembering Bon. To me he's still (one of the) greatest rock 'n roll singers ever...

Bon Scott is of course greatly missed. Too bad that Brian Johnson sounds like a shit sandwich in comparison.

Everyone sounds like a shit sandwich compared to Bon, its when you sound like a shit sandwich compared to Brian you need to worry. Take note Mick

Bon was the begining and the end , and is forever missed. Brian sounded good way back when (28 years ago) but doing what he does , ones voice will always give way. Always remember who wrote most of Back in Black , it would be the last time hearing Bon's words.

He didn't get any credit for it. So did he actually have anything to do with writing it?

Angus and Malcolm had started to come up with some demos but Bon never go to the lyrics although there are some rumours the RNR Aint Noise Pollution MAY have had some Bon input.

For me, Mick J is the greatest rock n roll frontman ever, but I'd have to say that Bon is second. I like Brian Johnson, but he isn't even in the same league.

old news, and pointless

Bon wouldn't have lowered his standards that much

as good as Back In Black is, it aint Bon quality

Bon didn't write any of the songs on BIB. On Behind the Music (I think), there was an interview with Malcolm where he said they were in the studio writing songs and he said they were almost ready for Bon to come in and start on the lyrics when he died.
When Brian was hired, Angus said they weren't looking for just a Bon impersonator. One must remember too, that in North America, AC/DC didn't achieve any level of popularity until Back In Black came out and it's not as though they were huge worldwide. They finally receieved their first US Gold album for Highway To Hell in early 1980 just before he died. Once BIB hit big, Atlantic rush released Dirty Deeds for North America.
It's too bad Bon didn't live to see the huge success the band has had since he passed.

Typical.

Andy this could have been a pleasant thread to remember the great Bon Scott but you had to f*ck it up by slipping in your usual lame commentary and jabs towards the Stones

Do you have any idea where you are? You are at a Stones board. Leave these comments OUT. I, for one, am tired of reading them and even more aggravated because they are coming from YOU.

Considering you almost never post anything in Stones related threads--- please keep any Stones mention OUT of your usual OT posts.

I also think Freddy Mercury would come a close secong to Mick.
