Odd '72 pics

It's Vancouver--start of the '72 tour--and look at the configuration--Richards and Taylor are swapped--all of this person's images from the show, which seem to cover a good deal of it, have them set this way.

and this shot has Mick and Keith reversed at the mic

am i being too analyical?

No, intersting observation!
I haven't got a clue about why they swapped but i do find it interesting.

Cheers,

could it be that the negative/foto is reversed

prob not as the Gretsch on charlies drums seems to properly read from left to right

no reverse--look at the guitars--everyone's playing righty and wyman is to he right--the guitarists are definitely swapped

i have never seen this--from 69-73--all those photos--weird, huh?

Maybe Bill ate beans, and Keith wanted to be as far away as possible?

That was it for sure.
I have an article from a Vancouver paper called

"Its a Gas Gas Gas - Stones swap sides for a show"

No idea why they swapped but it's really very interesting indeed.
Koen, I'd say you're very close to a solution there^^! >grinning smiley<

Maybe the roadies set up the amps in a wrong way and it was too late to change it...

That looks plain wrong. Keith must be to the right.

In one of the photos Keith is also using the same fender Mick Taylor would use in the It's Only Rock and ROll Video.

The 1968 NME Poll Winners concert had them in unusual stage positions, or do you you mean in 72?
