For those who are interested .
Great! Maybe I'll post some of my hometown too, it's one of the most beautiful cities of Holland.
One of the oldest or even the oldest, too .
I remember a few from it -stayed there more than 20 years ago but I must have kept some photos as well .

Where i'm from and where I live and where i'm going....all different places. This is an interesting thread, cool to see the Euro's on here and a good cross section of America too.
I live near SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA. But would love to visit that lake in Wales in the photo. Looks like a good kite boarding windsurfing spot !

I think that may be a river or the sea in that photo Naturalust, but in any case
Wales is beautiful, been all through it.

Yes, it is the sea....Swansea bay....the photo was taken from Mumbles Head looking across the bay to Swansea...Probaly the best place for surfing/kite boarding etc is Rhossili bay at the other end of the Gower Peninsula.

Rhossili Bay ..18 miles from Swansea...Atlantic facing.........

Wow! Thanks Eddie, nice photo! and I appreciate the tip about Rhossili Bay. How do they treat American singer/songwriter types (good ones) up there? Are there any venues around to make the trip a working one instead of a fund draining one? Supportive audiences craving new fresh heartfelt American music? I can imagine all the beautiful Nordic, high cheek boned beauties .... peace.

Hi Naturalust....you're welcome....right O.K.....whilst there is certainly a lot going on here in terms of sport and general outdoor stuff which is all to the good the same can't be said for culture....with the exception of Dylan Thomas who himself would be ancient if still alive and Male voice choirs this place is embarrassingly pretty much a desert. There's a few small blues cafes locally and a couple of venues doing open mike stuff but.......I gave up on it years ago. If your serious about getting some gigs in Britain obviously London would be a place to explore the possibilities and after that I would say Bristol and Bath.(About 100 miles from Swansea) Especially Bath. From what I can gather there's a strong 'cultural tourist' thing going on there possibly only second to Stratford-upon-Avon ..(Shakespeare). Lots of Americans & Japanese, so they entertainment there tends to wide ranging. Local & imported tastes. But as I say that's just my impression from visiting a few times....you'd have to explore deeper via the internet for more detail I guess.
Silver Dagger or Gazza may know more about London......
But Wales....for outdoor persuits is superb..mountaineering, horse riding, watersports, caving, para gliding......but don't forget a wetsuit...the water's cold............

At the Empress, did you do tea at 3? (nasty habit)
If I recall, when I was there about 15 years ago, I wanted to do tea at 3, but the tea room didn't open until after 3:30.
