1 Moonlight Mile
2 You Can't Always Get What You Want
3 Soul Survivor
4 Street Fighting Man*
5 Crazy Mama/Salt Of the Earth

* - GYYYA

NICOS, JJF is opening track on GYYYA and, IMHO, the weakest song on the record.

Sleep Tonight is a A totally overlooked classic -would have been the perfect final song on the closing episode of the Sopranos. Having said that, my 5 are:

- Salt
- Sleep
- moonlight
- Soul Survivor
- Can't always

You are so right - I can even see the cigar smoke twirling slowly upwards - why did I not think of that? And I have never understood why this song seems to be almost forgotten?? Ah, well.......

You Cant Always Get What You Want
Going Home
Waiting on a Friend
Shattered
Moonlight Mile

Can't put Sleep Tonight above any of these, but it is the best track on the record as well as the last. You might be able to say that about YCAGWYW, but the competion is so fierce on Let It Bleed.

All About You ?

Aah, there is so many of them, and I think most of the them work really well...

I'll choose the classical, epic ones - one can not ignore them:

(1) "Salt of the Earth"
(2) "You Can't Always Get What You Want"
(3) "Moonlight Mile"

Then there are those rocker ones ("Soul Survivor", "Starfvcker", "Crazy Mama") which gives the feeling of the continuity... But I think I happen to choose the last two from the thew formula first created in EMOTIONAL RESCUE, Keith's ballads...

(4) "All About You"

And, this is my 'joker':

(5) "Losing My Touch" (I think it really works well in FORTY LICKS; it is a sort of final afterwards comment to the album.)

I'd start with the closers from their four best albums:

You Can't Always Get What You Want (Let it Bleed)
Salt of the Earth (Beggars)
Moonlight Mile (Sticky Fingers)
Soul Survivor (Exile)

Then, for sheer rock out guitar anarchy:
Sympathy for the Devil (Love You Live)

I couldn't go with Street Fighting Man from Ya-Yas because that version can't hold a candle to the version from Brussels in 1973.

Depending on my mood, I actually prefer the Ya Ya's version

Obviously a lot of the posters here like the (new) tradition of closing an album with a ballad
of Keith's. I am not sure I feel the same about it. I like an album to end with an uptempo
tune to leave the experience of listening to the album in high spirits.

Songs like Sleep tonight, Slipping away, How can I stop and Losing my touch are not really
songs that I keep singing to myself after I played the albums. So these are not my favorite
closing songs. I like the songs themselves though.
