Is it capitalism at it's worst that has made available whatever you are on?

>> man is the bribe that u can't hear (legally) the new stuff w/out going for the whole yup package??? <<

er ... no.
the 2-CD set includes the previously-unreleased tracks and costs something like $24: [www.amazon.com]
does that satisfy you? does that slide on by you? does that help to ease the pain?

cool! maybe it's worth changing the subject line, then?
lots of people don't read more than the headlines,
and the venality is actually quite moderate in this case -
anyone who considers the $160 version too much can quite peacefully forego it

Re: $160, for exile release? venal beyond measure.
Date: April 1, 2010 12:38

That headline...I thought we were talking about discharge from an STD.

Hey Beelyboy looks like we all got some good news from your post regarding the price. On the other hand, whos up for a quick coffee and a venture to the ladies?

I'm on a machine that works with Linux... a perfect example of engeenering communism but shhhh... SR watches Fox News too much obviously smoking smiley

Back to topic : yeah the Exile box is a lot of dough for next to nothing. Rock fans have always been treated like sh!t, if Exile had been a jazz record we would have gotten FOUR cds of outtakes + 1 dvd of era footage not some truncated trailer for the Eagle bluray's.
Feel free to boycott it (I will!)

It is at 120 on amazon, now.

All the same, quite expensive.

As was the YA Ya's set, that I ended up buying anyway.

I hope the quality of the book is not as lame as the one in Ya Ya's.

"you know who (mick) sticking it to his loyal legions of fans"

I see more as a "monkey see money do" kind of situation : Sony did it first with the "Tell Tale Signs" deluxe edition at 120$. Record industry execs are SO desperate nowadays... grinning smiley

Get a clue, okay? the $24 version has the SAME tracks as the $160 version.

Beely - yes, you're legally screwed. You gotta git, at the very least, the double reissue.

At least, at first.

As has already been discussed here, the upcoming and separate DVD releases of Ladies and Gentlemen, and The Stones In Exile documentary, would seem to make purchasing the Super Deluxe box kind of unnecessary, unless you HAVE to have the book.

Although I'll be more than happy with the two CD set, I can see that the Stones can't win here. If they'd only done the two CD set, people would've complained that they should have done a bigger package. They've done the right thing in producing different options for different wallet sizes.

What'd you pay for two tickets to the last Rolling Stones concert you attended?

You either think the Exile release is worth $160 or you don't.

If you think it is worth it, you should buy it as soon as possible.

If not, don't buy it or wait until the price goes down.

Problem solved.

I think it's a ton of money, but you're right I don't HAVE to buy it....I like the idea of waiting for the price to go down!

I personally think that Mick Jagger is obsessed with money.
