Loved the man when he was in Genesis and also his first 5 solo albums but doing an album of covers - especially mournful ones - is always the nadir in an artists' career. Creative bankruptcy, I think it's called.

Just arrived from Bercy where he played one of the best concerts I've ever attended. He played with the Radio France Philarmonic Orchestra and it was really GREAT. he palyed "Scratch my back" in its entirety and then after a short break he played an incredible setlist.

hell the stones released at least 2 albums in the 60's with only a few originals and the rest covers. were they out of creativity in 1965?
