saville theatre london (1969)

The Stones did 2 concerts in December following their American tour. I would think they have become a bit forgotten...coming so soon after Altamont.

Are there any concert reviews available? How were they generally received?

Actually, they did four shows in London in December 1969;

two at the Saville Theatre on Dec. 14th, and two at the Lyceum on Dec. 21st.

As far as I know, only Jumpin' Jack Flash, Carol & Satisfaction from the Saville are in circulation.

Yeah, kind of forgotten. That footage should spark a little interest though!

I'm sure it will surface in its entirety before too long.

I remember a Jagger's sarcastic comment about one of these shows.

Something about a too stoned, sleepy hippie audience, blent with some seemingly bored-to-death rock critics.

Unfortunately I doubt it. This seems to be un-cut "raw" news footage, & it's doubtful that they filmed the whole show(s).

I love Jagger's vocals on this, amazing!!!

"You can't just sit there. Or I'll drive a spike right through your heads." He was a little cross because the London crowds didn't freak out the instant he walked onstage. Poor little bruised ego...

He probably expected them to still be the same as at The Albert Hall 3 years earlier.

I've wondered about that myself. A photographer perhaps?

Hello Heiloobaas, what makes you think it will show up soon?

Have you got more information??
