RIP Peter.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I didnt know his brother*James Arness) was still alive~ but one of my fav shows as a kid was FURY which Peter was in. Also who could forget that great performance(among many others) of the German "snitch" in Stalag 17.

He was directly in front of us in line at the Reno airport about 3-4 years ago to get onboard a Southwest flight (he probably had a place up at Lake Tahoe). You wouldn't have known it was him until he spoke, that VOICE was just amazing to hear in person.

I love Mission:Impossible, and Jim Phelps was the key ingredient.

"I love Mission:Impossible"
in retropsect it was a pretty disgusting show, right? Making the overthrow of foreign countries groovy & sexy... yuck! Who wrote the scenarios? The guys from L@ngley?

Did you watch the show? They didn't advocate over throwing governments! The shows were mini scams and cons of deceptions against bad guys. Classic show.

Unfortunately, many people are only familiar with the crappy MI movies and never watched the TV show. I remember reading that Greg Morris walked out of the original movie in 1996, shortly before he died of cancer, because he thought it was crap. How could they make Phelps a traitor?

"Jimmy, you ever been in a Turkish prison?" Brilliantly funny stuff. That role was a total departure from any of his earlier roles.

R.I.P. Peter Graves.
