Until yesterday I was allways under the impression the original version was Irma Thomas, and I thought I knew my 6ts soul Am I the only one

Bro, I don't think Thomas and Kai were related, since Kai's family emigrated to the US in 1934, which is before Thomas was born.

Its a crackin version and is on the The ACE CD "The Jerry Ragovov Story" part of ACES producer series (brian wilson, kacke Nietzce,Liber & Stoller and more) A great CD by the way with great. sleeve notes. I recommend it to all.

ACE is in my opinion the best re-issue label about.

Yes. I guess 'Kal' was just a typo. Haven't seen his name spelled 'Kaj' anywhere.

No. Must common family names, are like in Sweden, something ending with 'sen', like Johansen, meaning; 'son of Johan'

I see that. It's the same person. I have no idea about the 'Kal' name. Must be some kind of nickname, then. Otherwise it doesn't really make any sense to me.
