Isn't that the pre-working title for Green Bent Needles a.k.a. Sweet Black Angel

Title 5 is their free jazz/prog rock exploration piece. it's about 20 minutes long.

I thought "Title 5" was a BETWEEN THE BUTTONS or SATANIC MAJESTIES working title. It seems strange they would list working titles like "Sophia Loren" and "Aladdin Story" with the finished versions. What happened to "Scarlet?"

With any luck maybe "Title 5" is Scarlet, or at least a jam or title we haven't heard. Surely they wouldn't put Bent Green Needles since it is just an instrumental version of Sweet Black Angel, that wouldn't seem to merit inclusion.

I have never seen "Title 5" referenced to anything. Anybody???

To me, this looks like a pretty solid set. Several songs we don't know, and the ones we do are dramatically different versions and the sound quality should be improved over the bootleg versions. Again, what is basically the instrumental backing track for Sweet Black Angel would just seem out of place.

"Title 5" was a working title listed on the session logs for SATANIC MAJESTIES. "Ruby Tuesday" started life as "Title 8" which was why I thought of BETWEEN THE BUTTONS. Don't know if it is the same "Title 5" from the sixties or something else. Hopefully it is "Scarlet" which was worked on around 1974 and 1975 in a finished version with vocals. Still think it odd that the working titles would be listed as alternates on the actual packaging as Play.com indicates. I suspect that will change over the next couple of weeks but we'll see.

Title 5 was also an early name for JJF.

I also think it a bit odd that a working title would be used for an official release.

I think they're just having a bit of fun with it.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't include Travellin' Man. It's a great guitar jam.

So is "Title 5" Scarlet? Or is Scarlet the one they dropped from the eleven after discovering it was anachronistic and are thus saving for another release?

Title 5 is We Built This City. Yes, you heard it here first, folks! Mick and Keith wrote We Built This City.

No, honestly, I think it stands for "T.B.A. - to be announced".

Mick had to go get some honey soaked crumpets from his voice coach. He was feeling a bit spotty, needed a few weeks off. He still needs to finish it. Maybe work on the lyrics a bit. It takes a lot of effort to attempt to sound like you're singing and writing like it's 1971.

I find it odd that this site would have the tracking order listed when others dont. In the new issue of Rollingstone in a side bar they specifically mention the song " Scarlett" so it appears it will be on it.

According to RollingStones.com as I understand it (see below) there are 10 never-before-heard tracks + alternate versions of "Soul Survivor" and "Loving Cup", so there should 12 songs as bonus and noty only 10!!

"The Rolling Stones' classic album Exile on Main Street is to be re-released with an additional 10 never-before-heard tracks. Regarded as one of the greatest albums in rock 'n' roll history and one of the most defining of the Stones' catalogue, Exile will be available May 17, 2010 in the U.K. and May 18, 2010 in the US.

Upon its release more than three decades ago, Exile on Main Street innovatively wove varying musical genres, instruments and even artists into a compelling rhythmic masterpiece. This new compilation features 10 tracks originally recorded during the Exile era and only recently discovered while working on the reissue project. The unearthed tracks, which include such titles as "Plundered My Soul," "Dancing in the Light," "Following the River" and "Pass The Wine" have undergone a unique evolution, while staying true to the essence of the 1972 album. Alternate versions of "Soul Survivor" and "Loving Cup" are also a part of the Exile bonus materials."

My guess: Title 5 is an instrumental they discovered and liked
and as it was never properly titled, they stuck with the working title.

Maybe it will turn out as an instrumental we already know
as "Instrumental" or with a misnamed title which some bootlegger
suggested long time ago. But I wouldn't bet for it as I'm sure
the Stones have at least dozens of instrumentals in their vaults.

Probably not too far off the mark as it is a great jam. If so, it might be instrumental only - without the improvised lead vocals.

So there will be 12 tracks total - unless the 'never before heard' tracks are those earlier versions of Loving Cup and Down The Line, since they've never been officially heard HINT HINT...

Has there been any other source to confirm the play.com listing yet? I haven't seen any mention anywhere of "All Down The Line" being included.

The post on The Stones web site could be interpreted as "10 unheard tracks PLUS alternate versions of Soul Survivor and Loving cup...which would make 12 tracks.

Hopefully we will get some official conformation soon!
