I confess: I did not see SAL, and I'm not in a hurry

Maybe before Christmas.

Thing is: I am basically interested in listening the Stones live, flesh and bones.

Other canned music is OK, but as for the Stones, I need them sweating in the room

After attending some dozen of shows, I hardly can enjoy the Stones on my CD player. I think it is the side effect.

Start a love train
All of you brothers over in cinemas
Tell all the folks at home, and Israel, too
Please don't miss this SAL in yer cinema
'Cause if you miss it, I feel sorry, sorry for you

4th verse of Love Train or something!

Now look Joker! Get your bottom to SAL and see it on the big screen...You'll want to scream...sing and dance. Forget DVD land until winter.

You will start posting about your joy in "She Was Hot" "Champagne and Reefer" etc. etc. Get with it!

That's nice, I think I just need to be kicked in the bottom.

All right, I will go and scream.

OK, I'll loosen up a bit.

As far as rock music films go, it's certainly better than most.

I've seen it, liked it but not more than that. I'll buy the DVD but will not watch it until some friends maybe want to see it. I'll probably skip to Champagne and Reefer... then show them how they raped "Loving cup"... and set it on mute when Scorsese is talking.... But as a stones fan, you should watch it on the big screen.

I always give the purchase of concert tickets priority over the purchase of CDs and DVDs for the simple reason that once a movie or album is released, it's ALWAYS going to be there. I can buy it and enjoy it any time I want to. On the other hand, if, for example, the Rolling Stones came to your town in 1978 and you missed them, not only did you have to wait three years for another chance, but you missed forever your once in a lifetime opportunity to see them play most of the songs on Some Girls when they were brand new songs. That kind of experience can NEVER be repeated.

It's for this reason that I will never understand people who wait in long lines to see a blockbuster movie, Star Wars, for example, on the day it's released. See it next week when there's no lines at all. It's not going anywhere.

I like them, I like the concerts, music everything. But I really don't need to see a 65 year old jagger moving his ass and look into his old rinkles in a close up. Is there really a need for that?

Well, a cinema screen always wins a DVD. I recommend to see it, and not wait to get the DVD. There are lots of DVDs circulating already, but it is very rare to catch the Stones from a movie screen. I've seen them twice: LET'S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER in 1983 (an experience that was like almost seeing The Stones for the first time live) and now SAL. I had tickets for @#$%& BLUES but the bloody director Frank didn't show up, so the screening was cancelled... angry smiley

So hurry up!
