the most of OT topics are pretty related to the Rolling Stones fans... a typical RS fan knows Woody Allen, EC or Ted Kennedy.

Chill out! We are talking about the Stones, too. But they are not touring now, no new album is coming, so what there's nothing to be feverish about. Just talk a bit about this and that, stories from the past...

Just don't click on "OT" topics and don't try to repair the world... It should help!

hooligan, I don't know when you began visiting this site, but over the years, during the "slow" times for the Stones, when there is no tour or rehearsals, people on this forum talk about a lot of subjects. The fact that we have one main thing in common (Stones) means that we probably have many other similar interests. That's why there are many "O.T." subjects. Personally, I find many of them interesting. However, if there is a particular topic that doesn't interest me, I simply ignore it.

I suggest you do the same or else you'll be frustrated every time you visit this site. There seem to be enough Stones topics every day to satisfy any Stones fan.

We're all Stones fans here, and as such, should be free to talk about ANYTHING as long as it is within the bounds of BV's taste and respectablity radar.

Just about every topic ends up gravitating towards the Stones anyway, in some form or other.

hooligan - I see you have participated 63 times since you joined. As you can see, many of us enjoy posting on a variety of topics.

As several have suggested, don't bother reading the OT threads if it is not of interest to you.

I am truly sorry that the best Rock n Roll Forum on the internet interferes with the feelings of a few "Stones Only" Fans, this is a truly a quality site made up of quality contributors and sometimes emotions run high on certain topics.
Believe it or not, I have often found that the OT information found here is more credible than on sites dedicated to that subject matter.

I know you are SF, that's cool.... No problem from me cause I have a good sense of humor (plus I just might be the King of OT's.... at least part time)... To get serious for a second though IORR has a lot of readers/comment leavers going on all day/night long and that keeps it fresh and interesting IMHO.... I think you need the OT's to bring in max readers cause there are times when the Stones are taking a break so one must go to OT's to keep the board moving. I've seen some dead boards (especially photography topic ones) and it ain't pretty.. nothing moves, no one gets on, and it just basically dies. I think BV is smart to have a somewhat liberal approach to IORR, when one "clamps down" too strongly people don't enjoy it anymore and don't come back - happens over and over again - VIVA IORR !!!

If there were no Off Topic posts here then we would be a bunch of hardcore Stones "nerds" only here, discussing set lists and ticket prices. If there are too many Off Topic posts people get bored and confused and I have to clean up by deleting one or two of the most off topic ones. And people accuse me of being Stalin and preventing freedom of speach. It's a tough world.

Well said BV. You're right if we only talked about the Stones and what they had for breakfast we would be a bunch of nerds. There is nothing wrong with Off Topics as long as they have some connection to music. I'm a football fan in England and love the game but I don't want to go on IORR and talk about football I go on this website because of my love of music.
