How about it:

Brian was such a great guy, I think.. he's always so inspired when you hear him play. And on some songs you just hear he's written something.. he was unique and supercool! He's kind of mysterious and I often forget about him but what a character.. too bad he got @#$%& up by the drugs.. but how about a thread only about him.. pictures, stories, whatever you like!!

Just in the past week or so, I have really been appreciating Brian's Blues (aka Stewed and Keefed). Really wonderful playing from the early days.

I'm tired, I'm tired of doing what I'm told.
Things are moving way too slow.

Can't be bothered to look for the credits right now,

Funny you should mention it, because I was just watching this Brian interview that was just added to youtube. i've never seen it before, it's the longest I've ever heard him speak. He seems intelligent, not that I ever thought he wasn't - but its interesting to see how he appears to choose his words very carefully.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

No one else has been as critical to the Stones sound as a "can play any instrument" cat. Mick T. was great but just a different type player-like trying to compare Billy Gibbons and Johnny Winter. Apples and oranges. And even though Ron has the weaving thing pretty damn close with Keith theres no way you can compare the relationship with Brian to it! IMO

What a drag it is they couldn't revive him"

Not the most flattering pic, but I've always liked it. Would this be a half-nanker?

Yeah: is it actually a half-nanker or a quarter-nanker?

There's some irony in that as Brian doesn't play on that track. winking smiley

I've always found this bit of trivia to be interesting
concerning the drummer for the Byrds:

Clarke was born Michael James Dick in Spokane, Washington. His father was an artist and his mother was a musician. Clarke ran away from home when he was 17 years old and hitchiked to California to become a musician.

In legend, Clarke was said to have been discovered by Byrds founder David Crosby while playing bongos on the beach, but in fact he was discovered by singer-songwriter Ivan Ulz. And, he was not discovered on the beach per se, but in San Francisco's North Beach. Clarke was not an accomplished musician prior to joining the Byrds. He was reportedly hired more for his resemblance to Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones than his percussion skills.

Y'all remember that rubber legged boy
