wma-files can be dragged right into the iTunes-player, and convert directly to your desired format. Unless you have a Mac...

Digitally extracting audio from a DVD is complicated but can be done for free. This is how I do it in Windows.

1. Track down a copy of "DVD Decrypter" software. It can digitally extract audio and video files from DVDs. The MPAA was very upset and the software has been withdrawn but you can probably still find it.

2. Use "BeLight" to convert the audio .VOB files to .wav or whatever format you want.

3. Optional: The audio files will be at 48kHz sample rate. CD is 44.1kHz. Your PC won't care but a CD player will only play 44.1kHz. Either convert the sample rate first then burn to CD, or use a program which can convert on the fly while burning. "Audacity" (free) can convert the sample rate. Nero (not free) and possibly others can convert while burning.

Good luck.
