Was it put up in Cheltenham?
Should´ve been unveiled in 2006.
Anyone seen it?

Are you referring to this monstrosity?
Or is there are better one planned?

a replacement for that awful-looking thing was being planned, but i don't know what came of it.
here's an article that includes a bit about it: [www.independent.co.uk]
(the article also regurgitates a lot of crap, sorry!)

I heard Bill Wyman was to unveil the bronze statue.
Of Brian with a Vox guitar.

I laughed when I first saw this thing and it still makes me giggle! Is this suppose to honour Brian? Did the "artist" think that this looked anything like Brian!? Dear oh dear! confused smiley

here's a page about it from Brian's fan club: [www.brianjonesfanclub.com]
it really is impossible to fathom why it ever got unveiled - why didn't whoever commissioned it reject it on sight?

That really is UGLY! It even has the famous " bags " under his eyes! Don't you think they could have botoxed those away!!?

Deltics, i gather that's the "replacement version"?
it isn't beautiful, but anything's better than that green thing with the omelette.

[peering hard] what guitar has he got on the pedestal - anything identifiable,
or just an artist's idea of a generic guitar?

I'm afraid I can't help you, all of these pictures come from the net, and I haven't seen the original, although Cheltenham isn't a million miles from where I live, so maybe I should just take a drive.......

Botoxed!? smiling bouncing smiley Nah, I think that they are a part of how he looked. But they could have been doing something better than this for crying out loud!!

Looks just like him. I've always thought he was ugly, and the bags under his eyes aged him far beyond his 27 years.

Brian was beautiful when they first started out. He really was.

And at no time did he have flaming orange hair like that sculpture.

HAHAHAHA! I just busted out laughing at the omelette comment! Awesome.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

the original will never not make me laugh. Although in many ways its as much an artistic travesty as BJ was a personal travesty.

I love the John Lennon one, and the Seattle Jimi Hendrix one is not too bad.

The Brian Jones ones are head and shoulders above the rest in terms of awfulness.
