ot: Peter Frampton TV advert

I remember hearing about Frampton's financal troubles
a while back, and perhaps he is still having them.

He now appears on a Geico Insurance advert where he
"helps" a real Geico customer tell his/her story about
their experience with the company.

For example, on the Little Richard advert, the customer
would tell his story, and L.R. would come back and
sing the story in that southern gospel twang of his.
I thought the L.R. version was rather funny.

In the Frampton version, the customer would tell his
story, and Frampton would sing the story through his
guitar/talkbox thing like "Do You Feel Like We Do."
It comes off rather lame.

Poor Peter.

Yeah I've seen that as well. It is kinda sad and pathetic to see Frampton sink to that level.

... i caught the new installment with frampton out of the corner of one of my eyes.. my impression was it was just a goof like most of the likeable geico
commercials.. no doubt framptons up for the laugh, he's an ol' stoner, he knows he had a four leaf clover in his jeans since he touch'd a guitar... personally, im stuck with allstate do too personal intanglements.

"....sad and pathetic?" Come on, this is good humor, not as funny as the GEICO cavemen in my opinion but still worthy of a chuckle.

Check it out

I agree Luke, and I'll bet that Geico, who by the way has Warren Buffett as a heavy stock holder, paid good money for the these people to appear in their commercials.

Lately, they have been promoting the "Pips" in a commercial.

OK Luke. I can appreciate good humor and wit. Fot the most part, most of their commercials do just that. Little Richard, who is a cariacture of himself is one thing.
An artist who lends there music to a commercial is one thing. To stand in the background and mock your biggest hit is,yeah a little on the pathetic side. I do say this as a pretty decent Frampton fan. Humple Pie Live At The Fillmore is great
. I love the non-big hits on Frampton comes alive. Plus he did a pretty nice cover of Jumping Jack Flash.

...well Mr. Charmer, I respect your opinion of course, but I happen to see it differently. It is light hearted...and besides, I think it takes a big man to laugh at ones self. There's nothing so sacred about "Do You Feel Like We Do" that Frampton can't poke a little fun at it.

No sweat Luketer. Like I said. Ole Framp man is still cool with me. It's more of my:Rebel without a clue mentality that gets me.............What the hell did I just say?

In high school, they forced us to own a copy of his album. They actually issued you a copy, along with your gym uniform.

Hey, who else besides me made the mistake of buying Frampton's "I'm In You" album, thinking it would be as good as "Comes Alive?"

I'm hiding behind my monitor with my hand raised just slightly.

My local record store at the time had the album in the bargain bin with a slight clip in the album so I grabbed it. I tried to find something good about it but...

I did save my money and went to a music store and bought a talk box. I remember paying $98.00 for it. But I had a really hard time finding those blue satin pants.
