I had heard about this last week and immediately ordered it via Amazon. It showed up today and I have just finished watching it all. There is also some cool voice commentary overlay on the show as an extra from Cropper, Wayne Jackson and Rob Bowman. Let me tell you this is one incredible piece of music history. Booker T and the band, The Mar-Keys horn section, Arthur Conley, Eddie Floyd, Sam and Dave, OTIS!All this filmed in Oslo 1967. Great sound, excellent camera work. This is so exciting its scary. What a sound ALL those guys could make! This one is really for the ages and ALL Stones fans or music lovers need to get this. Buy it and crank up that sound system. Gonna make you smile, laugh, and cry with joy. This is music that moves you. Hard to believe how good Booker T and MG's were as a band. Jackson and Dunn could lay it down like no one else. All of these vocalists gave it 100%. They didn't call it soul music for nothing. Had to post this pronto. I am simply knocked out by this DVD.

I totally agree. I went to Memphis and saw this place and Sun the same day (missed the Gibson factory there, though). I gotta say Stax was much better of a tour, such a great place.
The Gibson museum is very cool. I didn't do the tour, but I very much thought the museum was worth the time. Check it out next time. I didn't get over to Stax to visit, but got a cab ride past the old site. Memphis is a fine town and should be on the must do list for music fans.

You must be talking about the Rock & Soul Museum inside the Gibson guitar plan. Yes, it is a good short overview of the whole music scene around Memphis, covering STAX, Sun, Hi, all the performers like Elvis, BB King, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee, etc.

Saw this as a bootleg years and years ago. It is absolutely fantastic. So glad it's finally getting an official release - thanks for the heads-up, filstan.

Stax was actually torn down in the eighties and recently rebuilt.
