I am wondering which brand do you like best and why.I know that each of them has hundreds of models but I mean in general which you prefer and why.I haven't tried a Gibson ever but I think I prefer Fender maybe because Stones play much more often Fender guitars.
Funny, many years ago I had a vintage Gibson bass amp which I sold to a bass player buddy, but it had a great tone when I played my strat thru it ... I've never owned a Gibson guitar though.
fender, very direct clear sound, you can actually hear what someone plays, gibsons always sound like there is already an effect on it, an effect i donĀ“t like most of the time. i also feel i can make my strat sound like a gibson with some effect boxes, it actually does the gibson thing better than gibsons.
sometime i play my gibsons and think they sound great and i should play them more often.
but then i take my strat or tele and am cured again.

That's an interesting take stoneswashed. I own a 52 Tele (reissue!) and a 58 Sunburst Les Paul (also reissue) and I love them both for different reasons. I lean towards the Gibson more but the Tele is an all around great guitar. You might as well ask me which of my kids I like better! When it comes to guitars for me at least it really is a matter of what feels and sounds best to the individual. If you haven't played a Les Paul, or any Gibson, StratoGR, try one, they're great!
