i think Erik was lightheartedly referring to the photo Rockman posted,
but yeah, Keith's Marquee 71 Look was another of those my my my moments.
Keith has a lot of those. he can't help it. :E

Every "cool" rock star looked "my my" in those years. But he never grew sidewhiskers... (Any photoshoppers around her to give it a try?)
Charlie looked embarrassing in his Black and Blue hair-do. Didn't a magazine (NME?) run a headline like "Would you buy a used Stones lp from this man"?

JJH, your opinions are overruled, dismissed for lack of evidence and struck from the record.
Keith's the one who's got "my my my" nailed for good, and Charlie is never "embarrassing".

(not only JJH, I'm a real Michael) I surrender, withsssoul. I was only envious of Keith's thick hair and I would even buy a used horse without looking at the teeth from Charlie.

I've read that he was tripping on acid or coming down from one that day. Certainly explains the look...

... if tripping on acid made people look like that,
the world would be a far far far more beautiful place.

smile, Adi Tyler: that shot is *exactly* the same Stones-in-the-Park screen-capture
that my very deft cohort BrownEyedGirll did - isn't it strange, and isn't he beautiful.
Keith's beautiful all down the line, of course - even when you just consider how he looks. :E

I was at Hyde Park close to the stage, and I can assure you the look in Keith's eyes or the eyes of any of the band members had to do with being slightly overwhelmed at the size of the crowd surrounding them.

Yeah, Keith was beautiful then - I think in '69 especially. Thanks for the pics.

His haircut at that time was pretty interesting. The longest I've seen him sport, kinda like curtains around his head... He obviously cut it a bit before the tour later that year, and he looked better then.

Is it true that Keith has always cut his own hair, or is that another myth?

I hope so, if not his barber should be hung

Barbara Charone wrote this story in her book in 1979. I don't know whether Keith's still cutting his hair himself (without a mirror, of course).

he said so in an interview in 2000.
