Was wondering if anybody has seen this one yet? It's in limited release in the USA only (I believe) and I've had 2 friends call me just RAVING about this film. There was a piece on an Oprah show a couple days ago where she was raving non - stop and the Director was on - JULIE TAYMOR (The Lion King) and said she had a private screening with just her, Macca, and one other person in the screening room and Macca LOVED IT. The clip they showed of BONO (in a unique and slightly bizarre costume) doing I AM THE WALRUS was very interesting and artistic. Usually I blow off stuff like this but I'm getting the feeling this one just might work in a very whimsical, Broadway musical, highly creative sort of way. If you've seen it or have anything to add leave a comment. No Beatle bashing please - they were super high talents, along with the Stones, and there's no reason to turn the 2 bands into a Football game - both great in their own way (and good friends at the time - Mick and John till Lennon was murdered in 1980). Here's the link for more info and Movie preview (but the preview doesn't do this one justice compared to what was shown on Oprah) The preview doesn't really show how "out there" artistically and uniquely creative this film really seems to be - only towards the very end do you get a glimpse....

When are people going to realize that if you cover any Beatles song, the only thing you can do is ruin it horribly?

The reviews I read panned it pretty ruthlessly.
