This is cool. Ollie Brown, the Ollie Brown from the Mocambo side (and the rest of LYL and B&cool smiley. He is the only non-Stones musician presented on a live album (with the exception of Eric Clapton and myabe someone on Live licks?). A classic gig on a classic live album. Ollie and Billy.

Ok, but they are artists, Ollie wasnt really an artist? And this is a legendary album (mocambo).

"not really an artist" - what does that mean?!
and (of course) Billy Preston is another non-Stone on LYL.
i have no (0) idea what you're driving at. have some popcorn.

Im driving at Ollie Brown is not famous like Sheryl Crow or Taj Mahal. Stripped is not a famous live album. Love you live is famous for a number of reasons. The third side is a club gig from El Mocambo, that gig itself is part of rock history. When Mick introduces the band it's the Stones + Billy and Ollie, that's it. And at that time the Stones made a whole tour with Billy and Ollie and they were part of thei music style at that point. And even colaborated on a few songs. So its not really like doing a duet with Sheryl Crow in the 90s when they even write songs with others and the band itself is not the really same five piece band anymore.

Ollie's not only on side three, he's on side 1,2 and 4 as well. He's also on Black & Blue and Tattoo You.

He was a fairly big name in the 70's, as he was part of of Stevie Wonder's band for a couple of years, as well as member of The Tempations. He was an in demand session player throughout the 70's. Ollie already played with the Stones on the '72 tour as well.

Yes, I know he's on the rest of the album and B&B. Forgot bout the 72 tour. The poiunt was, Sheryl Crow is a star on her own. Love you live and the 1975-76 tour is rock history. Stripped isnt.

No Security, not Stripped.

oh.
well, no wonder i still don't have a clue what you're driving at. :E
Ollie Brown "wasn't" (in your view) an artist in his own right, Billy Preston was,
and therefore LYL is historic and No Security (in your view) "isn't" - something like that?
because Sheryl Crow (who is on Live Licks) is an artist in her own right and
the side musicians on No Security "arent"?

come on, make some sense - you got it in you!

Lol! Not sure I make sense but ok. My point was that Ollie Brown and Billy Preston were mentioned on a Stones record, LYL, which has the Mocambo gig on it. It's a famour year and album and a famous gig. In my bookm that's pretty amazing. In the 90s the Stones are a bigger band on stage, and gueststars arent really that unusual so if a guy like Ollie Brown had played with them now it wouldnt have been the same thing. Ollie is part of the magical era. He played the Mocambo. And he's on B&B. His time with the Stones is "cooler" and to me, more important, than Bernard Fowlers. And being mentioned on LYL beats everything.

Well, I don't think that LYL is that big except for the Mocambo side i think it's pretty average, not the best tours are on it, a pity that they couldn't make a live record maybe two to three years earlier
