For the Danish/Swedish/Norwegian/possibly German people on this board:

Mick Jagger in "Freejack" on Danish TV2 at 22:50 tonight (in five minutes)

Warning: Saw this in a theater and it is extremely boring!! ;-)

One of the worst movies ever made. His performance in "The Man From Elysian Fields" was very entertaining.

Ah yes, Freejack. High drama worthy of the Shakespearean stage.

Saw it in the theater when it came out. One of those movies where you wonder how in the hell it ever got made.

Mick sure can pick 'em. Right up there with Ned Kelly.

I'm tired, I'm tired of doing what I'm told.
Things are moving way too slow.

Yup - just saw ½ an hour. It has not improved with time - actually, it's even more vinegar than wine now ;-)

Anthony Hopkins (is that Sir Anthony now??) disowned the film completely but said he only did it to meet and work with Mick Jagger (definitely Sir!)

But Rene Russo - ahhhhhhhhhhh ;-)

Ned Kelly is watchable. They did a remake of it a few years ago but I haven't seen it yet.

Freejack was a total bore.

The most boring thing in that movie is seing the present compared to what the movie showed it to be like;-) What would have been really funny would be a stones commercial for their new world tour kicking of in MSG on one of those cool billboards they showed furlongs face on!:-)
Anyway, Mick did fine in that movie, surely the best acting job in the movie.

Yeah - they should have gotten Steven Tyler in there too - three Jaggers (well one Jagger and two wannabees) in the same film *lol*

jagger should just stick to what he does best instead of humiliating himself in
dreadful movies, HE CANT ACT,which makes it very difficult to make a good movie,
and dont bring up performance, that wasnt acting, that was mick doing mick

I've seen this several times -- I enjoy watching Mick -- I've never made it through Ned Kelly with out falling asleep - that includes the newest version.

It was a crime that five talentless men edged out Jagger's "Freejack" tour de force in 1993 when the nominations for the previous year's best supporting performance by an actor were handed out. (Hackman won.)

Gene Hackman - Unforgiven
Jaye Davidson - The Crying Game
Jack Nicholson - A Few Good Men
Al Pacino - Glengarry Glen Ross
David Paymer - Mr. Saturday Night

It's hard to humiliate yourself when no one expects much from you. Nobody expects Jagger to turn in a Sir Lawrence Olivier/Marlon Brando type performance.

If anything he exceeds expectations. He's not a great actor but for somone who comes from a different line of work he is not bad. Check out The Man From Elaysian Fields- he's pretty good in it.

I think only Mick is qualified to judge whether he humiliated HIMSELF or not....lighten up please, it's entertainment not brain surgery....

If you are unskilled as an actor it depends on how good your director is. Have a look at the outtakes of Fitzcaraldo and you have proof that Mick can be a very good actor.

I think Freejack was just a bad choice for him. I mean he's the world's most unlikely hard man.
However I'm led to believe his movie 'Bent'(which was partly filmed here in Glasgow) was pretty good. Of course it sunk without trace.

yes i agree he was very good in that one, perfect role for him, but my comments still apply to all his other movie roles except performance of course, which he really wasnt acting imho

For a long time, whenever I starting talking with someone about how i like the stones, the first thing theyd ask is "did you see freejack"?
Fortunatley that doesnt happen anymore.

Bent was a very good movie IMHO but Mick was a little part of it. Even though I watched it cause I knew Mick was in it, I really liked the whole thing and as far as I can recall the leading actors were good!

Who the f*ck is Mick Jagger?

what's that expression ... "one man's trash is another man's treasure"?

i happen to love 'freejack' ... loved it the day it came out, and still do ... great acting from everyone, especially mick ... wonderful future-world sets, great story. i think 'freejack' is exciting, and funny too. what more could you want?

am i the only one who feels this way?

I agree with Drew, but only somewhat...

the film is a guilty pleasure for me, but I don't think it is a great movie.

I do always enjoy it. Saw it in the theater and I watch it every time its on.

Jagger should have taken more rolls like this one
