Hello everyone,

A few days back I posted a picture of comedian/actor Don Knotts on the funny/worst Stones pictures thread. The actor was wearing a white hat, and looked just like Mick in the Waiting On A Friend video. The next time I checked the picture was deleted, and I was banned from the board.

Unbeknownst to me, I was informed by Bjornulf today that the picture was alternating from Don Knotts to a highly offensive picture of which I do not know what the content was. I originally lifted the picture of Don Knotts randomly from a google search, and I thought that was the end of it. As it turns out, the photo changed automatically to something that in no way would I ever post on this board. Again, I don't know what the content of the picture was, but rest assured it was done completely unintentionally.

I have the highest respect for this board and it's members and have been a member here since 2002. I had to change my user name a couple years back, because I couldn't login for some reasonwith my original username which was Dr. FrankenStone . I have met many of you on tour over the years, and would never do anything like that to offend anybody. I have also been a member of shidoobee since 2002, and have met many of them over the years as well. Many people here and there can vouch for me that I would never post something that was offensive to anyone.

Thankfully, Bjornulf undertood the situation once I explained to him, and let me back in. He gave me some good advice, and that is to check thoroughly the source of the sites where I lift my pictures from. I rarely post pictures anyways, so it never dawned on me that something like this can happen. As most of us know, the internet can be weird at times, and in this case completely screwed up. I will always be careful if I ever post a picture again.

So with that said, my apologies to bv, and everyone here who may have been offended by it.

Hairball, I did not see the picture or the post you are referring to. But let me just go on record as saying I have talked to you quite a bit on this board and read many of your posts. I have never read or seen anything that was posted by you that was offensive in anyway.(except for the fact that you live in SoCal,just kidding.)..........So it's good to have you back Hairball. Although I do like that original handle of yours.

Welcome back, Hairball, you're now in the elite company of those of us banned and readmitted.

BTW, Don Knotts/Jagger do look a lot alike sometimes!

It's seems to be okay to stalk/threaten others on here, but posting pictures of Barney Fife and Sesame Street Elmo can get you banned.

Wow - I wouldn't even know that this could happen, thanks for the head's up.

Fondly remember Barney Fife... the comedian Craig Shoemaker does a character called The Lovemaster, and then riffs on Barney Fife impersonating The Lovemaster - it's classic!

Re: Jagger / Knotts, there are a few pix of Mick I have seen where he is a ringer for Jim Carrey as the Grinch... but if I could find one at the moment, I'd be afraid to post it!

Glad BV is on top of the content, and forgiving of the legitimate "Ooops!"

LOL...I'm afraid not. Like I said it was a random search for Don Knotts photo's on Google.
I'm not about to go back searching to find out.
BV said the alternate image was so bad that it wouldn't be posted anywhere in the world.
If thats true, I'm not sure I would want to see it.

I did see the picture you posted, but didn't see it change. It's strange that that could happen! Glad you were let back on the board, though.

yeah i saw it and it was major-league offensive.
besides the image - which you do not want to see, i promise - it said "this a-hole steals photos"
so apparently the site where you found the Knotts photo objects to people re-posting its shots.

I can never see any of the pictures posted from where I normally log on.
Now I'm feeling all left out because I missed the opportunity to be offended ;^)

Don't sweat it, stuff like that happens. We've all been left feeling a bit silly at some time or other !

I have done the same on another board with the same result.
Inserted the picture with an address something like www.abcdef.com/pic10.jpg
Then the website changed the picture I linked up to be some VERY different.

wow, now that's a hoot Hairball, you thought you were posting something funny about the similarities between Barney Fife and Mick Jagger (which by the way is indeed funny), but the website with the photo had the last laugh and alternated the photo to something offensive........now that is even funnier!!!!

When I had my website I had a pic of the Tongue and Lip Design. It converted to a white pic saying "I stil this pic from Mr. T-shirt.com".


Would like to see the image in question though. I have a VERY high boundary for what's offensive (Hence the wanking posts).
