O/T Wilko Johnson,100 Club,London,Wednesday 30th December 2009

Hello,

Not much to say as Wilko,Norman and Dylan just turn-up,plug-in and play the living daylights out of the same well-worn and much-loved songs.

Sounds simple?
They are in a class of one when it comes to this sort of show.
Just marvellous, and a real pleaure to see them again.

The one surprise to me was seeing Wilko play a Strat, which I learned later was because his Tele is undergoing some repair work...in fact he is now growing fond of his replacement!

Cheers!

Si.

Hi A-L,

One of the few turns who warrant my "Money-back-if-not-100%-satisfied" guarantee!

With any luck maybe 2010 will see us taking some shonky photos and writing some complete guff about The Stones' latest shows.

Cheers,

Si.

Many thanks for the photos Simon!! One of my top five guitar players. Wish he'd tour the states. But I understand why he wouldn't. Most people would probably show up expecting Wilco. Our loss over here.

I like Wilko, as guitar player he's unique and a good song writer too - BUT, he looks like a f*ckin scary android freak with a bald head.
Don't know what this gig was like, but his band can be very sloppy - not tight at all.

Hi Turd & MicknKeef,

Shame you cannot get to see the band play...this year they have been outstanding on both occasions that I've seen them this year:find me three people who play instinctively as well together as these guys!

Wilko's speed-freak look may well be a hangover from the old days...then again it may not...

Taken from a show last May...a really friendly chap, and Wilko was gold as well!

Cheers,

Si.

I'm sure he is a good guy Simon - but, be that as it may, I think he's better suited to DR WHO than DR FEELGOOD........!

Wilko - the man, the myth, the legend; I could never figure out how he savagely attacked that Telecaster without a plectrum and kept his fingernails intact; no wait, he said in one interview that at first his fingers bled a lot, but his skin got used after while. Another interesting trivia that I've discovered recently from one old interview with him found online is that he's actually left-handed! I'm left-handed myself and play a guitar, but in the manner Paul, Jimi, Kurt and the rest of them lefties did, changed the strings upside-down, but no, Wilko played it and still does as the right-hand player, he said that learning it was if someone turned him inside out or something like that, anyway, I doubt I could even make one chord sounding ok in that position, but look at him go!

Sorry for the rant.
