I have this box set since 1991, but I saw some copies with a sticker saying something like "limited edition number: ????" Can you tell me if some copies are numbered and some unnumbered? or my copy is missing just the sticker Are the European ones unnumbered and the US version numbered?
15 CDs from 1971 to 1989 and including the rare CD Collector's Edition with some B sides and Remixes. I think it was released in 1989 or 1990 in a pink box set with a tongue
Damn. I don't have it. Yet. I do own two different copies of Flashpoint though. The normal CD release and the first CD release with a different version of Sex Drive.
All I can say is that some copies have a sticker in one of the sides with a number: I saw 2 copies with a different number. I think that perhaps they made first the numbered copies and when they sold them soon, CBS decided to make more copies (the ones we have) but this time unnumbered.
I just trying to find if this info is correct but I don't know...

Its strewn all over the place untidily!
its actually nothing special compared to most collectors. I dont feel the need to buy every pressing or reissue of every record, and for bootlegs I hardly ever buy original pressed CDs/LPs but have just collected tapes or (since the late 90s) CDR's instead. I dont collect repackages of shows or recordings that I already own either though unless theyre significantly better. Its just too expensive and if I collected the way some do, I'd be even more broke than I already am and would have no dough at all for concerts. Plus, I collect all the Dylan and Springsteen unofficial stuff I can get as well as the Stones, so that eats into the budget as well....!

I collect the way you do then. Also getting boots on CDR. I do, however, collect every version of CDs I can find. Only CDs though. I have no tapes of The Stones yet, but I do have a few records.
I give my other versions of CDs to friends or the library, I even gave away my VGPs when I got remastered editions. I recommend it....will stone-relics do the same ?
It can get obsessive. With each new set we get something new, lose something old it seems (SACD's sans a stereo GOMC/ Satisfaction?). And new isn't always better (original SG cd verses the Virgin remaster?). Nowadays I save everything! You never know...................
