at reykjvik blues festival last night Ronnie Baker Brooks band played, and
what a fantasic blues that was !
in my mind it is the best pure blues perfomance i ever witnessed.
when watching and listening to that chicago 4 piece outfit I must admit, that it came to mind, that all the blues I had heard up to that moment, was just a copy, but this was the real thing. Amazing individual playing talent of every member, a very good connection with the audience, fantastic tighness of the grup,(not just another sloppy 12 bar blues perfomance) all members really into it, good humour. rbb himself a great performer and entertainer, as well as very very fine guitarman with a great sound, and a perfect voice, the baseplayer was really something, what an amazing natural talent that was, úff, teh keyboard player was astonishing as well, the drummer was only,, very good.

have you seen that band ?

Yeah, he's great, and so is his dad, Lonnie. I think Ronnie still plays in his band too.
