I'm in, Gold Circle B - delighted to see the Stones in Ireland once again. Now I've got to find out how the heck I'm going to get there and go back to Dublin after the show! It took two hours to go back to Nice after the show at Nikaia and it was less than 10kms.
Gwen, some advice. If possible stay in Slane village the night of the show. The journey back to Dublin will take hours upon hours and will be the down side of your Slane experience. You could still get some reasonable accomadation just outside the village or even camp for the night.

Well, when 80,000 drunk people try to leave a tiny village on too few buses, and half of them don't go straight back to the bus, it can cause huge problems. When your journey gets underway it can take an hour to leave site of the village what with traffic and kids walking the road amongst it.
How strange -and sometimes even unexplainable- the factor called "demand" is!... In 1990 the Stones cancelled Doublin show due to slow ticket sales. Then, of course, it would be the first Stones concert in many years, in Ireland. And now the Stones are selling about 80,000 ticket so fast...

Thank you - that's what I thought after I remembered trafic jams during rush hour in Dublin. I've started mail bombing the Slane area for accomodation. Only negative answers so far.

This part of history is always alive, because the Stones are always here! Alive and kicking. BTW, i suppose this impending Slanes's gig has special emotional value for Gazza, just because Slane 1982 was his first Stones show. Right Gazza?
Ireland is my absolute favorite place in the world. The nicest people I've ever met and what a beautiful country! I part Irish meself. I wanted SO bad to see the band at Slane Castle. Would have been a dream come true...*sigh*
I'll be hoisting a glass and thinking of you all on that day over here in Charleston, South Carolina, U.S.A.!
