Jaz Beach - Montenegro

Fancy this, it looks like a possible baby Rio. No airports nearby though. Any insights on the locale and access appreciated.

As far as I found out you can either fly to Split, Dubrovnik or Podgorica - then take a bus or car.
Or take a ferry from Italy. There is sadly no train connections. All in all, I'd love to go there, but it's too complicated and time consuming...

I'd love to go there too. But it's also a financial issue for me - and as it's not easy to reach it's also not cheap to go ther sad smiley

Yes Kova Tivat airport is only a few Kilometers away but flights from london are in the region of £1100 return and with changes take 8 Hours!. I am thinking about flying to somewhere like Munich or Milan and hiring a motorbike.

I have to go there, either with the whole family for a holiday, or for a short trip alone. We will go there by car from Vienna.

It looks so beautiful - a dream venue for a Stones-concert! Flight is really too expensice.

Dubrovnik in Croatia is 1 1/2 hours away. Lots of flights there. Check lists below including Croatian Air flights at 100-200 Euro. Also there are two airports nearby in Montenegro. Tourist info:

Yes. This will be a bit like the Rio show. Large.

i have spent many hours on this. i learned that dubrovnik is a 3 hour bus ride from budva! and split is 3 hours from dubrovnik.

montenegro airlines is a joke. if you're coming from rome forget it - they claim in an email to me that they don't fly from rome on saturday or sunday - the flight the day of the show would cause you to miss the show. it appears now you can't book online either and although the email agent will help, you have to pay in person at an office or at the airport.

There are direct flights by Croatian air from Rome to Dubrovnik. They cost around 200 Euro i.e. 250 us dollars. This is a famous city on the UNESCO list of word heritage. A must to be seen if you are anywhere near the area:

Also, if you like a boat trip, you may take the train from Rome to Ancona or go south and take ferries to Montenegro, they run at nights 22:00 (10pm) and arrive 7am, but it will take time and probably cost the same as the flight if you add all the wine and food you need to keep running as a tourist in Italy etc.

Most important thing for Montenegro is to get a hotel. The city of Budva is very, very small, and all hotels will be full when you arrive there. Also, they will charge double prices. Rule number one in Stones travel: Book hotels at all smaller places immediately, before tickets go on sale.
