Geez...Mick simply mentions her name...and these reporters are already jumping ahead saying they're actually gonna duet? Mick mentioned nothing of a duet.
Mick was quite funny during the webcase, I thought. I loved how he made fun of a fan's comment about their songs being around "till the end of time."
Hmm, I've never heard of Ms Winehouse before. What style does she sing in? Does it matter? Probably not, because if she sings on Mick's album, it's Mick's sound anyway.
Amy Winehouse is a "new" Aretha Franklin crossed with Diana Ross. In comparaison, Joss Stone got no soul at all. The CD Back to blacks is short (35') but full of soul, sounding very sixties

...I liken her to a "lighter" version of Shirley Bassey.........especially if you consider Bassey's work with the Propellerheads back in "97 on "History Repeating".........I think she has an interesting sound..
So she drinks a bit. (some of us here on the board keep boasting about drinking habits, too) So she's gotten her nose into some powders... I'm not unfamiliar with that, either. (and from what I've read about Mick'n Keith'n Ronnie - neither are they) I still love her voice. Like I love Billie Holliday's voice and Edit Piaf's voice. Yes, both dead - two of the too soon gones. They had "habits", ok. But we can't deny talent because of peoples addictions - if the rumour's true.
i heard her on the radio tonight so now i get it - she's got a single about not needing to go to rehab...maybe ronnie should do a solo with her...just kidding, ron.
edit: i mean duet! not solo...duh...

The "Rehab"-song was written after she broke up with her long-time-boyfriend. This was a very tough time for her, and she got really drunk - for a long time. Her father was worried sick, and thought she'd become an alcoholic, and made her enter rehab. When we go to rehab, one of the first things you do is to speak with the doc. He concluded: You're not really an alcoholic, are you? You're just unhappy about the break-up? That's the story behind the song. She said this in an interview with Norwegian talk show host Fredrik Skavlan 3 weeks ago. Then she performed "Rehab" - and it was great! Go buy her album.
