Are you out of your mind? Stonesfans are not joggers, we´re drinkers and lovers.

I've ran 32 full marathons (26.2 miles) and have a best time of 2 hrs 59 mins 48 secs.

My New Year's resolution is to get fit again and beat my PB by one minute (or one second). Whichever.

I run at least three times a week, maybe cover 15-20 miles weekly. Sometimes I ride my bike to work 32 miles round-trip.
Mick is a runner and I'd like to find out what his routine is like. I bet he uses a treadmill mostly to avoid the public and paparazzi.
I have to wonder if we would even have the Stones today if it were not for Mick's diligence for staying in shape and setting an example.

Its funny that theres a thread about this because I just started getting into jogging. The distance I go is probably about 2 miles. I go every other day or every couple of days. It does make you feel good the rest of the day after you do it. Thats what I like about it, not the actual jogging itself.

the reason i do jogging is ;

to to get mentally away from my day job,
and to stay reasonably fit.

Been jogging for 24 years (since quit smoking). Most of the music I'm listening to is from the mp3-player when jogging.

Re: joggers

I quit smoking this past March and started jogging the next day. Slow going at first (wrong kind of shoes for my overpronating ankles, which KILLED my knees) and lots of fun stuff came out of my lungs, but once I got all of that sorted out, I've been running pretty consistently ever since (4 to 6 days a week) but have been topping out at about 2 miles (18-19 minutes - I'm pretty slow). I need to step it up a bit, distance-wise, as I want to start running 5Ks this spring and 10Ks by the end of the summer. And, eventually, marathons.

I went for my first international run a couple of weeks ago in Toronto - was cruising along one morning, turned a corner, and saw the old El Mocambo neon sign! Very cool.

"stones & stamina"
"jagger & jogging"

this goes along fine....!

Great to hear there are fit people on the board! I just saw "Supersize Me", and I kind of imagined that people who spend a lot of time on their PCs, waiting for the next Stones concert, might be big as cars... But obviously - thank God! we're not. '
And yes, if it wasn't for Mick's jogging, there would not have been any tour action after 1990. He's got a personal trainer, who's also a physiotherapist for the entire band, (Torje Eike) with whom he goes jogging every day when on tour. (in the streets, in parks, around little lakes etc) But of course, he should be cross country skiing in stead - to protect ankles and knees.

as a matter of interest, not many people in the US call it "jogging" - that was a term from the 70s when it became trendy here - it's "running" - and it doesn't matter how fast you go (technically, i think jog is usually a slow run)
