In the 60s they used to do it a lot, most of what Italians think is Italian pop/beat/rock of the 60s, some kind of untouchable musical period for 50/60 somethings, was actually music from the British Invasion translated with awful lyrics.

Lot's of Stones stuff, like Paint it Black from Caterina Caselli was highly regarded at the time and she still pretends that was a song of hers.

Adriano Celentano, probably Italy's greatest pop singer ever, made a lot of money just putting horrible lyrics to many songs from that era.

The only cool band was I Corvi that covered "I'm no miracle worker", the rest was pure shit!

I agree dunhill. Celentano was terrible about slapping any old lyrics to songs. He also had that image thing of wanting to always look like Sonny from Godfather LOL. I still like Caterina caselli to this day. Ages ago she did a good version of Neil Diamond's "Solitary Man" I think it was. She also had a great tune called "Emanuel" that I used to sing as a kid.
One thing about the translation for "Con le mie lacrime". Jagger adds the final word 'cosi' to the chorus, which actually doesn't make any sense. They probably needed it for meter and rhyme. So the last line would always be "with my tears like this".

That is why I kept it out of the translation, it didn't make any sense.

actually, HE WANTS, not she, I'm still male, and Borna is male name. I would like to have some well known italian songs translated in english, to understand them better.
