I am simply trying to locate the best DVD of Opening Night for the ABB Tour - Boston Aug 21 2005 (sometimes 2006 is thrown in as well).

What do you recommend and why -- what label, factory pressed silver DVD or a recordable DVD-R which can be far cheaper, quality of the picture and sound, longevity of the DVD, quality of the packaging, cost

a few extras - some seem to include extra Boston television station coverage of the event, some may have more shots of THE PLEXIGLASS than others (kidding)

Also, have you seen DVDs by various companies of this show so you would know how the Rockpassion version compares?

I've only seen the Rockpassion one. I also think it's the only one in circulation. Good filming. The guy with the handycam zooms all the way in on Mick and it's very cool. The sound is also quite good.

The Smokyboy team filmed it so if there are different versions they are all copies of that with different menus.

and where can I buy the smokeyboy (smokyboy or smokeyboy, seen it both ways) version? what do you mean copies with different menus, do you mean different labels/companies.

WOW also has a pressed silver disk version, though even that may have been pressed from a copy. and I think available in both PAL and NTSC

The Canadian at rsconcerts.com sells one, but I don't know which.

And I think the only content difference is that some have footage from Boston TV and some don't.


PLEXIGLASS

It means Smokyboy and his buddy shot it, edited the video and sold it themselves. It was treed and torrented shortly there after. Most traders have a copy. The so called "labels" then take a copy, put their own menu on it, perhaps add some TV coverage and sell it as a "silver" for $30-$50. The people on this board that have small fortunes tied up in "official silvers" will try to convince you that that a silver made from a 20 cent DVD-R is worth a lot more than 20 cents because it has artwork. You decide for yourself.

The vast majority of people will simply trade and download their artwork.

I have been told that pressed and perhaps copied DVDs are superior in quality to getting anything via torrent or tree. Is this so?

Also, aren't the "silvers" pressed from whatever source so they would be regular DVDs, not "copied" DVD-Rs?
